Dawn Engel, Lead Designer and Project Manager

Dawn has been designing gardens since the second grade, when she would mentally redesign her neighbor’s gardens as she walked to and from school. Dawn has officially been working in landscape design for over 15 years, starting her career as a fine gardener and plant designer for estate gardens up and down the Peninsula. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History and an Associate’s Degree in Environmental Horticulture and Design.

Dawn has a keen design aesthetic, a no-nonsense approach to designing a functional outdoor living space, and loves to collaborate. She is adept at taking her client’s ideas and blending them with her years of experience to create beautiful, usable spaces.

Dawn is currently the Peninsula District president of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD), and is a member of the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA). She holds many awards for her landscape designs, including a gold medal and People’s Choice Award for her garden display at the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show.

When she’s not designing fabulous landscapes, Dawn enjoys hot yoga, traveling to exotic locales, and hanging out with her artist-husband, her two teenagers, and her geriatric pug Otis.
